Impact of diabetes on long-term survival after acute myocardial infarction: comparability of risk with prior myocardial infarction.

Description

This study corroborates the findings of Haffner et al. in the East-West study and also suggests that diabetes increases risk of future cardiovascular events comparable to the risk conferred by a history of a prior myocardial infraction in a nondiabetic population.
