This paper reports the two-year follow-up results of an obesity prevention program conducted in schools. Though the authors found that this school-based prevention program had some positive effects after one year, they found no residual effects on adiposity markers measured in school children two years after the intervention program ended. These results highlight the importance of conducting additional long-term studies on continuous interventions. These disappointing results also suggest that in an environment conductive to obesity, additional measures that go beyond the school and target the whole family should be considered.
