The ANZOS-ASLM-ICCR 2019 Joint Scientific Meeting will be held in Sydney, Australia, from 16 to 18 October 2019 at the International Convention Centre in Sydney. This year sees the coming together of 3 outstanding organisations in the Australian New Zealand Obesity Society (ANZOS), the Australasian Society for Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM) and the International Chair on Cardiometabolic Risk (ICCR). The joint organising committees are bringing together an extraordinary line-up of international and domestic speakers to deliver the latest in obesity research, clinical practice and public health policy. This year the program committee will be accepting abstracts in three categories:

  • Public Health
  • Clinical Science
  • Basic Science

This unique joint national and international conference on obesity and related chronic diseases will bring together healthcare professionals engaged in research on obesity and obesity-related issues, including public health, basic, and clinical aspects. This Conference will provide the opportunity to explore new approaches in the assessment and management of the risk of chronic diseases associated with obesity. Invited speakers will also examine how to prevent and manage these diseases by focussing upstream on the “vital signs” for cardiovascular health at both individual and public health levels and will review various lifestyle-related factors and interventions.

Dr. Jean-Pierre Després (Canada), Dr. André Tchernof (Canada), Dr. Robert Ross (Canada), Dr. Marja-Riitta Taskinen (Finland) and Dr. Miguel Angel Martinez-Gonzalez (Spain) will make presentations at the ICCR symposium and during the plenary sessions of the congress.
